Katy Sue Le Shoe Colouring Book

Crafter's Companion Inspirers Post

It can be so rewarding and relaxing to spend time colouring especially when you are colouring a great picture. Take a look at this lovely shoe I coloured in using Spectrum Noir Pencils and the Katy Sue Le Shoe colouring book. I think they would look amazing framed once coloured in.

You can find the full tutorial here on the Crafter's Companion Website

Thank you for popping by and reading my post, Please check out the full tutorial and leave me a comment to tell me what you think.

Recycled Substrate Play

Crafter's Companion Inspirers Team Post

Hello Everyone

I had a play today, with something I always really enjoy playing with, recycling old packaging. In this case part of a cardboard box. Because you are using something that would normally go in the bin, there is no pressure, you can just relax and if it all goes horribly wrong, you have lost nothing and most likely learnt something from the process.

I started by ripping parts of the top layer of cardboard off, revealing the bumpy corrugated part underneath, Over this I applied a layer of Gesso with a roller. I then applied layers of Iridescent violet blue paint in the same way. Before sponging the same paint that I had mixed with black and titanium buff on to texture embossing folders ( Hessian and Dry Stone Wall) and stamped that on top of the cardboard. I also stamped onto the board with bubble wrap using a much darker mix of the paint.

I coated a sheet of card with red blue and orange yellow iridescent Pebeo paint and die cut several flowers with the English Country Garden Grand Floral dies. Once they were dry I glued then in place on a tree I drew and painted in earlier.

Autumn Note Book

Crafter's Companion Inspirers Team Post

Hello everyone

It's Friday which I am going to try to make my regular Crafter's Companion project post day. I am attempting to be organised, not really sure how that is going to work out for me . For this project I have recovered an old note book with book paper and decorated it with the free gift stamps found in Issue 11 of the Crafter's Inspiration Magazine.

I covered a piece of masking tape with Brown acrylic paint to cover the spine of the note book, then I stamped out the branch and edged the book with Ground Espresso Distress Ink. I then stamped out several leaves using Peeled Paint, Ground Espresso and Rusty hinge Distress Ink on Neenah Desert Storm card. After I dried them and cut them out I glued them in place using a 3D glue.

Autumn Gift Tag

Crafter's Companion Inspirers Team Post

Hello everyone

I have a quick tag to share with you today, using the free gifts from the Crafter's Inspiration magazine issue 11. The tag was a basic manilla one that I ran through my embossing machine with the free gift folder moving the folder along the tag until the whole tag was embossed.

I then blended Rusty Hinge and Vintage Photo Distress Ink over the top, I always love how this technique makes the embossing really pop. Using Ground Espresso Distress Ink I stamped the Branches, sentiment and leaves from the free gift stamps and then edged the whole tag with ink before adding the ribbon.

Recycled Cardboard Art

 Hello Everyone

This is my Inspiration piece for The Artistic Stampers monthly challenge. This month is ANYTHING GOES. So please take a look at mine and my team mates pieces. We hope they leave you inspired and please join in both on the blog and the FB page

I started by using gel medium to glue matchsticks together,
that my naughty Daddy had left behind after his last visit.

Then after coating the matches with Gesso, I painted over the top with Caribbean Sea Fresco Finish pant adding the smallest amount of French Roast Fresco Finish in two of the corners. I then stamped some dots  using Professor Plum Fresco Finish paint.

I then stamped the large light bulb on top, hanging the stamp over the edges
so I did not get a full image. I also applied more Professor Plum around the edges .

I then glued it on top of a piece of cardbard that I had distressed, brayered Gesso over and stamped more lightbulbs on, to line up with the ones on the matchsticks.
