Crafting with Kids

Today is a happy/sad kinda day, My time on the Inspirers team for Crafters Companion has come to an end. I have enjoyed ever minute of it and met some amazingly talented people who I hope to keep in touch with for years to come.

So for my post today I am sharing some projects I created for crafting with kids.

Stamp and stitch cards, use your larger stamps with lots of open spaces. Once you stamp the image punch holes along the stamp lines with a sharp tool. Then stitch along the holes with a cord or think thread.

Make a large pom pom mixing material, wool, cord, and buttons together. My son loves making these and feeling all the different textures once complete. You can add all sorts of things including bells.

These are great for little ones and are a great way to use up leftover papers, glue patterned papers to the flat side of large clear beads and glue googly eyes to the top.

Aqua Tints and Colourista Pad card

I love playing with Aqua Tints, they sit on the shelf and I convince myself I don't know what to do with them but when I get them out I have such fun and I never want to put them away. So for my Inspirers post, I have a card made using Aqua Tints and a sheet from a Colorista colouring pad.

I laid my card stock on my glass mat and sprayed it with water before brushing the Aqua Tints over the top drying between layers

The gold foil on the colouring sheet resisted the Aqua Tints and stayed a very vibrant gold.

Journal Page using the free gifts from Crafter's Inspiration Issue 13

Well sometimes a girl just need to play in her journal or in this case on a cereal box, So for this Inspirers post, I have played with paint and the free gifts from Crafter's Inspiration Issue 13

I started by coating the box with a layer of Pebeo Gesso, while that was still wet I scrapped Pebeo orange cadmium hue and azo light yellow over the top.

I then stamped over the top using the free embossing folder and white Gesso, I also used the free stamp to add extra interest with Distress inks and Archival ink.

Once I had drawn in my girls face with a pencil I added a layer of gesso to block the paints and inks underneath. Ove dry I painted the face and hair in with acrylic paints. On a sperate sheet of paper, I had painted with Pebeo cerulean blue and Gesso, Die cut lots of petals from the free die and built a dress from them.

I added extra stamping from the free stamps  along the bottom
