Springtime- March challenge at The Artistic Stamper

Hi Everyone

This months challenge over on The Artistic Stamper blog, is Springtime. Springtime always makes me think of the colour green, and Butterflies. I hope you like this little accordion book, and it inspires you to join in this months challenge. Please pop over and see my team mates inspiring pieces as well.

I started by cutting a sheet of white card stock in half, and scoring the two pieces in three equal panels, which I then joined using washi tape. I also added washi tape on two of the score lines.
After that I scrapped clear texture paste through the petal masks. Once that was completely dry I covered all the card with green dylusions paint. Stamping over the top with a darker green paint and the swirl background stamp.

Once those layers were dry I took different butterfly stamps and the dragonfly stamp from the butterfly #2 plate and stamped the all over the card with orange dylusion paint and archival black ink. When stamping I made sure to alter the direction of the butterfly's and also to stamps some over the edges of the card.

I printed out a quote by John Keats, cut it out and glued it into place. Making sure to plan out where it was going before I glued to to ensure I could cover all the panels.

I then went around the words with a black pen and added black spots in different areas around the edges. To make the covers for the book I cut two squares of cardboard just a little bigger than the book, once it was folded. I wrapped the cardboard with a thin pieces of kraft paper and glued them to the ends of the folded card. I then cut a piece of ribbon to tie the book closed. I only attached the ribbon to the front cover as I knew this would be hidden. I cut and decorated a small bit of card to match the inside and glued it onto the cover hiding where I had attached the ribbon.

Thank you for reading.
